9. třída

Pracujeme s učebnicemi Project 4 - 3rd ed.

1. POKYNY - 12th March

  2. Vyplnit si ve WB (pracovní sešit) str. 20, 21 k lekci 2D - pokud ještě nemáte celou hotovou, a k tomu dále strany 22 a 23 - Opakování. Poté zkontroluji.
  3. V SB (učebnici) si přečíst str. 28 a 29 (Culture a English accross the curriculum) a vypracovat si úkoly do sešitu. Ty si pak zkontroluji.

Obsah 3. čtvrtletní pís. práce

  • Předpřítomný čas
  • For / Since
  • Předpřítomný čas vs. Minulý prostý čas
  • Tázací dovětky = Question tags
  • Frázová slovesa (např. jump out of, fall off, drive into, fall through,...)
  • Tvoření slov: Podstatná jména vs. Přídavná jména (luck / lucky, happiness/ happy, ...)
  • + slovní zásoba především ze 2. lekce

2. POKYNY - 18th March

Write an ESSAY: WHAT I DO DURING QUARANTINE

3. POKYNY: 23rd - 29th March

Tyto pokyny jsou úlohy na celý týden 23.3.-29.3.    ---------    Další pokyny zadám v během pondělí 30.3.

Hello again,

I hope you haven't gone crazy from being and studying at home yet! For me, becoming a sort of "youtuber" makes me full-time occupied but as well I am going a bit mental... So you if you are going crazy, your English teacher is as well. 🙂

First of all, let's do some revisionr of Question tags and check of your homework in SB and WB that you've had to do so far.

  • First, Question tags video. If you think you know it, open the video at "16:26" where I present a little exercise. (Please, excuse my little mistake there. Making these presentations takes awfully long time and I simply didn't have the energy to re-record it again without throwing the PC out of my window.. :D)
  • Secondly, WB p. 20-23 check video. Please, do the exercises BEFORE you watch the video, otherwise you learn NOTHING.
  • Thirdly, with SB p. 28-29 check videoAgain, please, do the exercises BEFORE you watch the video, otherwise you learn NOTHING.  (video to be added later)

NEW TASKS

  • SB p. 30/all exercises + 31/ ex. 1
  • Copy the Question tags handout into your "Exercise book - Grammar" and complete the questions with question tags. Send me a photo of the finished exercise by Monday 30th March via EDUPAGE.

(At least I will try to make it work first. If it doesn't work, let me know and we will figure something out.)

Don't forget to send me your ESSAY - Quarantine
by this Friday 27th March

(this one still to my school email)

QUESTION TAGS - handout

4. POKYNY - 30.3.-3.4. 2020

Tyto pokyny jsou úlohy na celý týden 30.3.-3.4.    ---------    Další pokyny zadám v během pondělí 6.4.

My dear students,

First of all, I hope you are OK!!! Are you going crazy already? I am in the middle of reading your essays - it is very interesting!

Secondly, I realize that past couple of weeks have been quite busy. If you have too much to do and the deadlines are too short, please ALWAYS let me know, especially when there is a deadline. Communication is key! I will gladly discuss with you what can be done if your situation is not ideal. Just text me, email me, speak with me. I'm here to help. No stress, OK? Cool.

Thirdly, I was going a bit crazy myself with how much time I spent recording videos in Powerpoint. So I bought a special mobile phone app which allows me to record, edit and upload on youtube straight from my phone. The recording is of course in a bit different style than before. I hope it is not too bad change for you and that everything will (still?) be ok. Let me know if there are any problems, please.

Last but not least - Why do I make SB and WB videos? Ii is because I want to go through the exercises together with you just like in our normal lessons. Please, pause the videos when I tell you to do so and do the exercices just like during a normal lesson.

Sometimes, there's just a video check your homework. I decided to do this because I want you to have the results soon after you do your homework so that you can immediately understand WHY - Why the answer is this and not that...

Right, so what is there  for you this week?

  • Question Tags check
  • Video SB 30-31 check
  • Unit 2 revision: CDs from Work Books and revise unit 2. If you don't have the CDs or CD-ROMs, go to online revision: https://elt.oup.com/student/project/level4/unit02/?cc=cz&selLanguage=cs
  • Vocabulary UNIT 5 (5ABCD Culture) - YES, 5 = FIVE! We're going to skip unit 3 and 4 for now. Unit 5 contains a very important piece of grammar: "Passive voice" which is a priority at the moment.

6. POKYNY - 14.4.-17.4. 2020

Další pokyny zadám během pondělí 20.4.

Dear students,

First of all, I hope your Easter was lovely and you had a good time. I also hope you got nicely relaxed and are now ready for some real work!

Secondly, I'd like to thank you all for co-operating when writing the Question tags test. I think that this  was the first time when I was more nervous than you while you were writing it! I expected many technical issues and sweated through the 45 minutes the test was running for. But all went well in the end. Phew. I hope you could see the comments I wrote for each test. If you still have any issues on the QT topic, let me know.

Thirdly, essays. Essays, essays.. I am thinking about writing a blog article or making a video on this topic. There's a lot to cover and it could be beneficial for all of you. It might take some time for me though, so please bear with me.

Last but not least, tasks for the following week:

We are starting Unit 5 which is all about the environment. It is a heavy topic with a lot of demanding vocabulary on global problems. Also, we are going to finally touch some "proper demanding grammar" - Passive voice. It is an important piece of grammar as it is found (<- see?) in many spoken and written texts - mostly formal documents, manuals, academic texts etc. And you can "bet your ass" that its knowledge will be needed in the future since it is used pretty much all the time.

Well, and the last bit is going be cover conversation topic. See for yourselves...

  • video SB 56-57 Passive voice Present simple
  • notes on Passive voice - copy into your notebooks
  • video WB 44-45 - exercises check
  • CONVERSATION Pair-up: Choose a conversation partner from your class and get in touch with him/her. Call each other regularly and practise talking in English about anything and also on given topics. Don't be shy and try to swap conversation partners occasionally to get a bit more variety in listening practise.
  • SHOPPING - Conversation topic: For technical reasons, I will put all the conversation materials together in one message via EDUPAGE. There will be vocabulary related to shopping (you already have it in printed form) - go through it. There will also be links to websites with questions for discussion and some pictures for you to discuss as well.
The links I can add here, too:

https://www.eslconversationquestions.com/shopping/

https://printdiscuss.com/shopping-conversation-questions/

http://iteslj.org/questions/money.html (in this one you need to find the questions related to shopping)

NOTES:

1) You have two weeks for this topic.
2) You don't need to cover all the questions on all the links. These are here only to give you ideas what to talk about with your partner.

I'd like each and every one of you in two weeks to talk to me on this topic. I will give more details later.

7. POKYNY - 20.4.-24.4. 2020

Další pokyny zadám během pondělí 27.4.

Speaking of school - my regime has changed yet again which is the reason why I am sending you my work update only just now.
